As gamers we weren’t expecting much out of Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li, but someone must have. It got greenlit, right?

Well, if this weekend’s box office numbers are any indication, things aren’t off to a hot start for 20th Century Fox film. The Legend of Chun-Li took in $4,650,000 this weekend, playing in 1,136 theaters across the United States. For comparisons sake, The Jonas Brothers: 3D Concert Experience played in 1,271 theaters, and pulled in $12,700,000. Tyler Perry’s Madea Goes to Jail is still at number one at the box office for the second week in a row, yet is not in 3D. Go figure.

I haven’t seen Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li yet, but I still feel compelled. It’s like slowing down to see what could either be a traffic ticket or a horrible car wreck. Is that worth my $10? Not sure, but I sure do like movie nachos.
