Strange things are afoot in The Sinking City

This cinematic trailer sure sets the mood

I thought I could handle spiders, but this latest video for The Sinking City has me questioning my resolve thanks to a fast-moving figure lurking just out of the protagonist’s sight. Ominous webbed hands, an ocean in the sky, and tentacles that connect to some unspeakable horror or another all make for a darn good cinematic trailer. I’m glad this Lovecraft-inspired investigation game is moving forward.

The waterlogged 1920s setting looks like a supernatural delight. “Once flourishing and industrial, Oakmont was devastated by a vast flood which submerged half the town, and led to cases of mass hysteria. According to local inhabitants, the ocean exerted some sort of evil and perverse influence.”

I’m also pleased there’s separation between this and Cyanide’s Call of Cthulhu. That’s due at the end of October, while The Sinking City is looking at a March 21, 2019 launch on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
