State of Decay hits Xbox Live Arcade in June

New trailer for open-world survival game

Since I last saw Undead Labs’ State of Decay, it looked ambitious for an Xbox Live Arcade release if rough around the edges. Checking back in with a brand new trailer that dates this open-world, third-person zombie survival title for June 2013, there’s more polish to be found.

Perhaps the biggest draw is the emphasis on survival itself — as in, keeping yourself alive with supplies rather than merely shooting danger in the face until there are no more threats left shambling around — and the ability to construct a base of operations.

State of Decay is also making its way to PC at some point, though the specific phrasing used makes it sound like there will be a gap between it and the XBLA launch. I keep thinking I’m tired of this genre, but I must not be completely exhausted if stuff like this looks appealing.
