Dive In, dead? Dive In is dead.

Late last year Square Enix launched Dive In in Japan, a service that streams games (like Final Fantasy XIII‘s 1-3, Murdered: Soul Suspect) to Android and Apple mobile devices. There were all sorts of purchase plans, including one year subscriptions to access individual titles.

Well, the service did not even last one year. Thankfully, anyone who paid for one year access to any game will be getting a full refund as the service shuts down September 13, just in time for the Tokyo Game Show.

According to Gematsu‘s translation of the GamesTalk article, Square, “will continue with various cloud technology initiatives” to take another swing at streaming gaming in the future.
