Space Battleship Yamato creator debuts new manga on Wii

I was less than ecstatic to see that the first manga offering for the Wii would be Princess Ai Monogotari, a series co-created by Courtney Love, as that type of thing just isn’t my cup of tea. Leiji Matsumoto is more my thing, thanks to a little show called Space Battleship Yamato that made a big impact on me way back in the early eighties, and his new manga is on the way to the Wii on both Japanese AND English!

Kotaku reports that the series is called Out of Galaxy Koshika and goes on sale April 14th. Like Princess Ai Monogotari, it will have Japanese and English text options and retails for 500 points for the first chapter and 200 for each chapter afterwards. Of course, you’ll need a Japanese Wii to get your hands on it. Personally I prefer to read scans of manga until it is released in the US (or if it ever is), so I’m not sure I would use this service even if it was available on my Wii. Would you?
