Sony: PlayStation Phone details ‘definitely fake’

Recommended Videos

It would appear that the long-rumored PlayStation Phone is to remain long-rumored for the time being, with Sony categorically denying that recently released shots of the device are real.

According to NowGamer, a spokesman for Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has said that the screens are “definitely fake.” The company as a whole has retained its official line of “We do not comment on rumour and speculation,” but even without Sony’s confirmation, analytical gamers have torn the PS Phone images apart and found many suspicious problems.

Such issues include a questionable amount of dirt on the system’s screen, not to mention some distinctly un-Sony “A” and “B” buttons. Personally, I just thought the thing looked rather ugly, and Sony doesn’t typically deal in ugly gadgets.

For now, the PlayStation Phone gossip will have to continue. So much for that being over.
