It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for. The PS3 Wiimote has a release window, as an enraptured world finally gets to experience what life with motion control can be like. The innovative, fresh approach to videogame interaction that is sure to change the way we think about gaming has been slated for a Spring 2010 release. And thank God

“We are slating it for spring of next year,” states polygonal SCEA boss Kaz Hirai. “One of the things is that we just don’t want to put out the controller. We need a great software that supports the controller at launch. It’s something that we’ve been working on for the longest time.”

Hirai’s right, of course. Software is important. I wonder what the odds are of it launching with some sort of sports game that includes tennis, boxing, bowling and golf. Sony could even follow it up with a sequel set on a resort island. I think that would be an awesome game, because of innovation.
