Sony goes nuts at GC 2008: PSP 3000, 160GB PS3, downloadable music and more

We’re not at Leipzig’s Games Convention this year, but that isn’t stopping the new from pouring out of the event. IGN UK is liveblogging the event, so we’ll just nab a bit from them. They won’t mind.

Here’s the highlights:

  • SingStar Disney is exactly as it sounds. Singalong with Disney is the official subtitle of this game where you’re singing along to Disney videos.
  • You can now use your PS2 copies of SingStar to move the songs to the PS3 version. Nice!
  • SingStar Queen!
  • Son’s Music Download service will hit in Q3 of next year, streaming service to hit Q1.
  • EU gets limited edition 160 GB PS3, for 449 Euros, includes 70 Euros of additional downloadable game content
  • PSP 3000 will launch on the 15th of October for 199 Euros, comes with game packed in. Comes with built-in mic and Skype, and enhanced screen
  • Quantic Dream’s Heavy Rain is shown
  • EyePet is a new software that uses EyeToy to raise virtual pets.

Keep in mind that these items aren’t confirmed for US release.

What do you think of the announcements so far? We’ll fill in the holes as releases are sent into Dtoid HQ.
