If you simply must play classic Sonic the Hedgehog games wherever you go (the DMV, the toilet, in bed), then Sonic Classic Collection is the Nintendo DS game for you.

Available in early 2010, the game collections the first four games in the Sonic series — Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, and Sonic & Knuckles. The DS collection adds a new save feature to Sonic 1 and Sonic 2, as well as a special “history of Sonic” video.

“The Sonic Classic Collection will introduce a whole new generation of gamers to this beloved Hedgehog and take them back to his humble beginnings,” says Sega’s Vice President of Marketing, Sean Ratcliffe.

Yes, back to the humble beginnings. No more werehogs or 3D adventures, please. Who’s with me on this?
