Somewhere, someone is playing Monster Hunter Freedom Unite

I didn’t care for the Monster Hunter games I played so much in single player mode, but as any Japanese fan of the series can probably tell you, multiplayer is where the action’s at. The UK launch trailer for Monster Hunter Freedom Unite you can see after the jump doesn’t show off too much of that, but it does show some very pretty scenery and a few snippets of gameplay in the second half. Oh, and it features a voiceover from a guy that sounds like the Asian stereotype of the century.

The game comes out on June 23rd for PSP here in North America, but it’s been out in Japan for almost a year already. I don’t mind waiting to check out the next chapter of this ultra-popular franchise, but maybe this time I’ll see if I can find a friend or two to play with me.
