Some PS Vita game carts require memory card for save

Recommended Videos

People have been bitching about PlayStation Vita memory cards since its announcement, and now here’s one more thing to bitch about on that front — game saves.

I hope you weren’t hoping to save your games on the PS Vita game cartridges, because it looks like many games require the PS Vita memory card for saving your data. Kotaku Japan (machine translated link) points to an official document from Sony Japan that details which games require a separate memory card for game saves. It looks like ta good deal of the launch titles will not save to cartridge. Uncharted, Ridge Racer and even my beloved Hot Shots Golf are going to dick me over.

To be fair, we’re going to need a memory card anyway. And downloaded titles will obviously require a memory card. Still, I’m sure that many gamers would be surprised to hear that you cannot save to the cartridge in some games.
