Smash + Grab is definitely not Sleeping Dogs 2

I guess they woke up

Sleeping Dogs was a pretty good game.

The story went nowhere and its DLC was underwhelming, but the actual bones were really solid. It captured the vibe of ’80s Hong Kong cinema while introducing some improvements to the GTA open-world formula. Many fans have been asking for a sequel since 2012, but that doesn’t look to be happening today. United Front games announced today that its next project will be Smash + Grab, a multiplayer-focused battle game.

The art style looks…..good? I really don’t know what else to say about this. Once I heard multiplayer, I kind of checked out. I don’t doubt that this could be good, but the failed pseudo-sequel to Sleeping Dogs, Triad Wars, didn’t even get released before it was shelved.

No platforms or release date were given with the announcement, so I can’t even tell you where to look for this. I think it’s safe to assume net-gen consoles, but this could end up being PC exclusive like Triad Wars was going to be.
