Single-player BioShock 2 DLC ‘Protector Trials’ revealed

Uninterested in the first two downloadable content packs for BioShock 2 because you don’t play multiplayer? 2K Games has announced today that it’s bringing new single-player content to the game in the form of “Protector Trials.” The pack will be available on August 3 for 400 MS Points for Xbox 360, or $4.99 for PlayStation 3.

On paper, it sounds a bit like a single-player “Horde Mode” — as a Big Daddy, players will defend a Little Sister from swarms of Splicers. The pack will include six new maps, along with new unlockables like concept art and videos. If you’re looking for a little more incentive, “Protector Trials” also features seven new Achievements/Trophies.

Not what you had in mind? 2K president Christoph Harmann says this is only the beginning, and that more single-player DLC is on the way that “will deliver more of the intense action and story-driven gameplay that fans have been craving.”
