Sequel to Blacklight: Tango Down free to play

Zombie Studios is doing something wise with its sequel to Blacklight: Tango Down. It’s going to be free.

The tentatively titled Blacklight will be supported by paid content, Big Download has learned. “Blacklight will feature a large number of improvements based on the player feedback we’ve gotten,” says CEO Mark Long. “And we hope going free-to-play will close that loop so we can respond even faster to player preferences.”

This follow-up will use Unreal Engine 3 and contains playable mechs. Yes, mechs! Apparently none of the content from Tango Down is being reused, either. For a first-person shooter like this, free-to-play is definitely the model to go with, in my mind.
