SEGA not considering Aliens vs. Predator sequel

With the news that Creative Assembly is working on a new Aliens game, one may wonder whether or not Rebellion will get another crack at Aliens vs. Predator. According to SEGA, the answer is no. At least for right now.

“[AVP] was so successful that naturally you would think you want to do a sequel,” said SEGA’s Mike Hayes. “But we already had Aliens: Colonial Marines in the pipeline at Gearbox.

“The Aliens universe is so interesting that there are different things that we can do before we go back to an idea of sequelisation. There’s a lot more we can do first before we would consider doing a sequel on AVP.”

Sounds good to me. AvP was a lot of wasted potential as far as I’m concerned, and I’m eager to see what Gearbox and Creative Assembly come up with. I’m gagging for a good Aliens game, and at least one of those studios need to give me my fix.
