Rumortoid: God of War III won’t hit until at least Christmas 2009

With or without Cory Barlog on board, God of War III will be a reality on the PlayStation 3. This much we know. The game will likely be rated M (for mature!) and will feature Kratos fighting gigantic bosses, hopefully in full 1080p. It should also support the Dual Shock 3, so we can feel every last shiver and shake of Kratos’ rippling muscles and brutality.

While all of this sounds like great fun, according to Game Radar’s “reliable Sony source,” don’t hold your breath for too long. Word has it that we won’t be seeing the next-gen Kratos adventure until Christmas 2009 … at the earliest.

Of course, with God of War: Chains of Olympus coming to the PlayStation Portable in the near future, it won’t be long until we’ll be tearing zombie soldiers in half once again. But two years? Maybe this will be the longest, most epic God of War yet … so we’re talking at least seven hours of gameplay here. Don’t disappoint, Sony!
