The more I hear, the less I think that Microsoft has a standard way of dealing with Xbox 360 replacements after the dreaded Red Ring of Death. I’ve seen and heard everything from two-week turnaround times to multi-month bitchfests, with replacements varying from ones that break again in a month to brand new systems. Should you want to avoid all of this hassle, you could just do what one disgruntled Xbox 360 owner did: email Bill Gates.
Believe it or not, this gamer actually received a response and a replacement Xbox 360. M&C says that some Internet Matlocking netted this guy the email addresses of Bill Gates and Microsoft’s Corporate VP of Worldwide Customer Service Kathleen Hogan.
He emailed both execs and was contacted 24 hours later by Xbox customer services; they informed him that his brand new console was on the way.
Wow, what an unexpected response! What do you think the chances are of this happening again?
