I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I actually preferred the non-horror, Call of Duty-inspired Chris section of the Resident Evil 6 demo to more horror-focused bits starring Leon. I REALLY don’t want the Resident Evil series to turn into just another competitive, fast-paced shooter, but I’d rather play that kind of game than the walking slowly down corridors for ten minutes brand of “horror” that I found in Leon’s scenario.
Man, I really hope that was jut a bad demo. Leon’s part in Resident Evil 6 was the stuff I was most psyched for. Now I’m afraid it will be the worst.
Anyway, with Chris, we got a feel for the game’s Vanquish-style power slide, its “praise” mode (give NPCs compliments and they’ll be more effective partners), a good look at the game’s multiple gun-toting enemies, and some QTE-focused action scenes.
We’ll have a look at Sherry Birkin and Wesker Jr.’s scenario next, so stay tuned.
