Reach revealed: Spartans, some talk, and an elite

Recommended Videos

The Halo: Reach reveal at the Spike Video Game Awards show wasn’t what we expected it to be — instead of revealing class-based action or new weaponry, it flexed a bit of narrative strength. In the initial seconds, a few UNSC Spartans talk bluntly about the Spartan MIA status. Then, we see some sort of head Spartan prepping a new recruit for some sort of conflict before taking to the skies in a Pelican.

The end of the trailer brings a shot of an elite with sword in hand.

Want to see some screens without Tom Morello’s MS Paint work all over it? Take a gander at the gallery. While we can’t be certain as to what Reach is, we can at least say that it’s looking good.

[Update: Holy timeline (and eyesight), Batman! I forgot the face of my father, and apparently, what a Spartan looks like. These are indeed Spartans, not ODSTs. And because of the game’s place in the Halo timeline, the group was certainly not talking about Master Chief’s most recent issues.]
