Bringing caring and color to the world October 5

Publisher Skybound Games has offered up the first details and trailer for its upcoming adventure title Rainbow Billy: The Curse of the Leviathan, a whimsical tale of empathy and understanding that is coming to PC (Steam) and consoles on October 5.

Rainbow Billy will see players guide the titular lad as he journies through the World of Imagination, drained of joy and happiness by the wicked entity Leviathan. Armed with a talking fishing rod, a gaggle of new pals, and a positive attitude, Billy sets out to restore color to the fantastical universe and pull all of its residents out of their unhappy states. Where Rainbow Billy aims to divert from the average video game is in its positive tone and emphasis on the power of empathy, as Billy engages in numerous non-violent confrontations, winning the day with understanding and caring.

Described by developer ManaVoid Entertainment as a “wholesome, family-friendly, and accessible” adventure. Rainbow Billy hopes to entertain players of all ages with its hopeful message of growth, acceptance, and self-worth. The developer has taken strides to make its cutesy adventure as accessible as possible, with options for single joystick control, color-blindness settings, and dyslexia-friendly fonts — with an eye to opening up Rainbow Billy’s world to anyone who wants to join in on the adventure.

Rainbow Billy: The Curse of the Leviathan launches October 5 on PS4, PC, Xbox One, and Switch.
