QuakeCon 2011: First-Person and Community Manager panels

Recommended Videos

QuakeCon was awesome this year. Skyrim and Dishonored were on display, there was a 3,000+ person LAN party and a woman even went into labor during a Skyrim demo. There was also a slew of panels for event-goers to check out. Two of these included the First Person Perspectives Panel and the Community Managers Unmoderated! Panel.

The First Person Perspective Panel brings together Mackey McCandlish (Respawn), Drew Murray (Insomniac Games), Tim Willits (id Software) and Julien Roby (Arkane Studios). These industry leaders discuss how the first-person shooter genre has expanded through the years and they also talk a bit about the development process of all the games they have worked on throughout their careers.

The Community Managers Unmoderated! Panel features Abbie Heppe (Respawn), Adam Pyle (id Software), Matt Grandstaff (Bethesda Softworks), Nick Breckon (Bethesda Softworks) and Ryan Schneider (Insomniac). They offer their insight and expert experience in how to manage a community using social media as well as through their own forums.
