Power Gig’s story is something you must hear to believe

That’s not my way of saying that I can’t describe to you what the setting and story elements in the upcoming Power Gig: Rise of the SixString. I could totally do that, for sure. I just don’t want to because it makes me sad.

Why does Power Gig even need a story? That’s the question I want answered. There was no need to inject this sort of Brutal Legend-like narrative into what is essentially a performance game utilizing actual instruments. Now, between the announcement of instrument support in Rock Band 3 and this … whatever this tale of magic and mischief is does not sound like something I need.

Unless, of course, a gun was put to my head and I had to choose between being interested in this story or the plot in Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. It depends on the day, but I think the odds are good I’d be most curious towards understanding the bullet better.
