Popular bluffing card game Coup will be a videogame soon

First on iOS, later for Android and PC

When people talk about good games to ease newbies into board games, The Resistance is one that gets brought up often. Heck, we have even played a few games of it on our forums. It took the hidden team aspect of Werewolf, trashed the player elimination aspect, and put a greater focus on deduction. Coup is a newer game set in the same universe, but instead of a hidden team game, it is a free-for-all of deception and deduction.

Both games have their strengths, and one of the newest points for Coup is that it will soon be available in videogame form. The small development team easily surpassed the initial Kickstarter goal of $5,000, currently sitting at an almost 50% surplus with two weeks left in the campaign.

With the Kickstarter success, it will definitely be made for iOS devices. Android and PC are listed as stretch goals at a lofty $100,000, but the team wants to explore those options even without the additional funding.

For those left out in the cold by the timed exclusivity, I can still recommend the tabletop version. It’s relatively inexpensive, and there is something so satisfying about lying to your friends and getting away with it.
