PopCap to offer a limited celebrity edition of Bejeweled

Recommended Videos

Despite the success of social app Bejeweled Blitz, the franchise will continue hitting our disc drives in physical formats. This morning we received word from the casual games creators of the lauded franchise, PopCap Games, that a new special edition adaptation of the lauded franchise is set for release. It’s called “Celebrity Bejeweled,” and looks to bring the slightest of visual twists to the series.

The “likenesses” of several celebrities — a stunning list that includes Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Jewel, and even Crystal Gayle — have been added to the gems in the game, giving all the opportunity to match three of their favorite stars. The package will only be available via PopCap.com’s store in limited quantities, so prepare to order fast when it arrives. On a side note, we managed to pull an image of the game’s boxart when it was inadvertently uploaded on the store’s severs last night. The Escapist was able to, apparently, download the game and have shared an in-game screenshot with its audience that you can take a gander at if you’re interested. Hip stuff.
