August 3 Pokemon stream

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are the focus

An August 3 Pokemon stream is confirmed! The Pokemon Company tweeted out the news this morning, noting that there will be a 9AM ET presentation on that day.

The tweet says that there will be “updates on Pokemon apps and video games, including Scarlet and Violet,” so at least one project is called out by name. The rest is up in the air, but given the format for the past year or so, we kind of know what some of the usual suspects are.

In case you forgot what they look like, we have a recap of a previous presentation here. They can provide numerous details for mobile/spinoff projects, with a big finish that focuses on “mainline games.” There’s a 99.9% chance we’ll get confirmation of more creatures (and a look at some returning Pokemon), as well as some quick looks at several mechanical changes/additions to the formula with the new generational leap.

Here is what we could see touched upon in the August 3 Pokemon stream:

  • Pokemon Unite anniversary event updates
  • More on Pokemon Cafe/Pokemon Masters EX
  • A quick update on Pokemon Go
  • Potentially more merch/hardware
  • A big ending that provides details for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
