Piranha wants to go back to its roots for Risen 3

Promises ‘favorite elements’ from Gotchic and Risen 1

Recommended Videos

Piranha Bytes went off in a different direction with its pirate-centric Risen 2: Dark Waters and that didn’t sit well with some series fans. For the next game, Risen 3: Titan Lords, the studio claims it has gone back to its Gothic and Risen 1 roots. To what extent? That remains to be seen.

Whether or not you agree with that promotional messaging, there’s a good amount of in-game footage included in this overview video. I wouldn’t take it as the end-all-be-all, but it should help clue you in to whether or not Risen 3 will hit the right notes for you personally.

Also, the way the narrator pronounces “Piranha” is nothing short of magical.
