Phallic product names continue with the Wii Shaft

Recommended Videos

While some gaming product names are unintentionally pervy, you’d have to wonder about something named the Wii Shaft.

Gametrailers has this video of a arcade-style controller for the Nintendo Wii. The joystick is aimed at players of the various Virtual Console titles, with an emphasis on the fighting ones. It sports a ball-style joystick and six face buttons, all equipped with a “turbo” function. You’ll be able to relive your NES Advantage (link for the chilluns) days for just about any title that doesn’t require shoulder buttons or dual analog sticks.

For the questions that the video didn’t answer, we hit up the Shaft Web page. It turns out that this contorller is not wireless, though the stick does work with analog titles (they reference Super Mario 64 as an example). The site offers a pre-order price of $39.95 for one shaft or $69.95 for two, and they’re available in Artic White, Coral Pink, or Midnight Black.

Do you think that a big shaft will help your gaming? Or are you going to give this the shaft?
