Persona-styled JRPG Mind 0 gets trailer

Where is my mind? Zero originality

Really, “Persona-styled” might be doing this game from Acquire and Class of Heroes developer Zerodiv a bit too much justice, because it reads like a knockoff. The cast is a group of highschoolers (not uncommon for a JRPG set in modern Japan). The game spans two worlds: the normal world and some sort of spirit world. The protagonists employ MINDs (Mental Inside Nobody Dolls), weird summons that come from inside of them.

Okay, I guess these aren’t terribly original videogame ideas regardless, but, still. I mean, one of the characters even looks terribly similar to Persona 3‘s Aigis, but with a slightly more derivative art style and fingerless gloves, because those are still cool. I wear mine while I watch my Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles VHS and yell at Reagan.

Mind 0 is launching in Japan on August 1 for the Vita. I’m sure it has its audience there and, who knows, maybe the writing is really good. We won’t know unless Mind 0 gets localized, and I’m comfortable reserving my opinion until then, previous snark precluded. It’s also nice to see Acquire still supporting the Vita, following Sumioni. Was that any good? I loved the art style, but never got into it.
