Palworld: All passive traits and how they affect Pals

From Abnormal to Zen Mind

There are a lot of passive traits in Palworld and a seemingly endless combination that you could possibly end up with for any individual Pal. Each trait has an effect on the Pal’s battle or base performance, so here’s what you need to know.

How do passive traits work in Palworld

If you’re looking for an epic battle partner, look for a Pal that has the Legend trait – it’s usually found in Legendary Pals like Jetragon or Necromus, but it can be bred down into other Pals. This OP trait increases both Attack and Defence stats by 20% while also increasing movement speed by 15%. That explains why Jetragon is the MVP when it comes to mounts.

On the other hand, if you’re looking for Pals that can be of the most use on your base, you should probably avoid Muscleheads – this trait increases a Pal’s attack stats by 15% but at the cost of work speed, which falls by 50%.

If you’re looking for a faster mount, whether that be on land, water, or in the skies, you’ll need to look for a suitable Pal with the Swift or Motivational Leader traits as these increase the movement speed of your Pal.

Some traits are specific to certain captured Pals, such as the Legend trait detailed above, but even these can be bred down to other Pals if you feel the need. Breeding is a good way to create incredibly strong Pals, as the parents’ traits can be passed down to create the perfect Pals for any task.

Yes, I’m aware that this is technically Eugenics – as if Palworld wasn’t already morally questionable with the ability to enslave or slaughter humans as well as Pals.

How to find out which passive traits your Pals have

To discover which passive traits are connected to your Pals, simply interact with your Palbox and hover over one of your Pals. On the right-hand side of the window, you’ll see all the information about that Pal.

Passive traits are shown at the bottom of this panel. Yellow traits are considered favorable, with the number of up arrows corresponding to just how favorable. Red traits are considered unwanted traits, with the number of arrows showing just how bad these traits are.
