PC only unless those stretch goals come through

Appeal’s 1999 open-world action-adventure game Outcast has built up a dedicated fan base over the years and when it was announced that core members of the original team had bought the rights back from Atari, a Kickstarter felt inevitable. And here it is, not too much later.

Fresh3D is asking for $600,000 to modernize Outcast for PC with remade objects, textures, environments, and characters; story bugs removed; improved HUD, inventory, notepad, and dialog interface; new camera control; gamepad support; and more. That should be pretty attainable.

The stretch goals only climb from there, with Mac/Linux versions, reworked animations, DirectX 11 enhancements, Oculus Rift support, console versions, an all-new world called Kizaar to help “pave the way towards Outcast II,” and an orchestral soundtrack possible with enough funds.

I wish they would’ve had more to show, but I doubt that’ll matter much in the end.
