Our first look at League of Legends’ revamped art style

Recommended Videos

I feel legitimately bad that I haven’t touched Riot Games’ League of Legends more or less since its first week out of the gate. Maybe, just maybe, the studio can pull me back in with its impending shift in art style.

PC Gamer has some before-and-after comparisons of the current and upcoming styles. I’m a fan of the new look — the characters still have toon-like qualities to them, but the level of detail and shading has been bumped up. Also, they removed the purple liquid from the barrel. Huh?

That’s almost as weird as Nintendo’s NES-era censorship policies. Almost.
