Original Xbox games could get backward compatibility support on Xbox One

Hope you still have those old discs

Hey, Destructoid reader. Do you still have a bunch of your original Xbox game discs lying around your house that you wish you could play on your Xbox One? Well, it’s apparently possible that some time in the future you might be able to play those games once more on your brand new Microsoft box.

Don’t believe me? Check out this Twitter exchange with Phil Spencer on the topic:

While this is in no way confirmation that this is actually happening, it does at least show us that Microsoft is thinking about the idea and that it doesn’t find the concept ridiculous.

So, do you still have any Original Xbox games you’d like to be able to play on your Xbox One?

Also, my goodness writing about the original Xbox and Xbox One gets very confusing as a games writer. Damn you Microsoft.
