Monkey D. Luffy and his swashbuckling gang are back with a hot new trailer for the upcoming, One Piece: Pirate Musou beat ’em up for the PS3. I’ve been pretty critical of the previous Dynasty Warriors spinoff titles, most recently let down by Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage. The mechanics that plagued it and the Dynasty Warriors: Gundam game, look be largely cleared up in the trailer, most notably, the speed and chain attacks look to up to par.

The characters’ signature moves also seem to set this game apart from the previous anime forays. They don’t appear to pull you away, pausing the action and look to lend themselves to some pretty entertaining combos. The whole crew is well represented, and the story elements look to have been taken right out of a recent episode of the hit anime. Given the show’s impressive popularity here in the States, I’m pretty optimistic for a localization of Luffy’s impressive 3D six pack.
