Old! Prince of Persia ported to Commodore 64

Recommended Videos

Coder “Mr Sid” spent two-and-a-half years porting the 1980’s platform game Prince of Persia to the good ol’ Commodore 64.Ceator Jordan Mechner has given it his blessing:

“Back in 1989, when I was making POP on the Apple II, I couldn’t get anyone interested in doing a C64 port… because it was too old a system.”

The coder of this port says that it was reverse engineered from the Apple II game, and ended up being the “biggest crossword puzzle” he’s ever worked on. He says it’s not perfect, but as you’ll see in the above video, he did a pretty nice job.

If you happen to have the appropriate hardware, the game can be found here.
