Oh, so this is how you come up with the story for House of the Dead: Overkill

Sega has released the second part of their House of the Dead: Overkill documentary series, and this time the folks at Headstrong try to explain how they came up with the game’s narrative. Really, this doesn’t seem like the kind of thing that would be too tough.

So, you get the House of the Dead license, and right off the bat the whole “kill zombies” thing is built right in there for you. So you don’t have to think too much about that one. Then you find the sleaziest video store in your area (the one that still rents out VHS), and you rent every horror movie that’s packaged in an oversized box. If it’s banned in more than 20 European countries (most of which you’ve never heard of), you’re on the right track. Next, watch the films and take notes. Then, steal all of the best ideas.

Finally, make a Wii game. See, how hard is that?
