Oh hell yeah, Quadrilateral Cowboy is out this month

Quadrilateral Cowboy release date

It’s been 47 years since Brendon Chung announced Quadrilateral Cowboy and it finally has a release date. The latest from the developer of the excellent Thirty Flights of Loving and Gravity Bone is coming out July 25 here and on Steam.

Mac and Linux users will have to wait a little longer: September 2016.

It’s a very smart, very analog puzzle game dressed as, “a cyberpunk heist adventure.” As the site reads, “When you have a top-of-the-line hacking deck armed with a 56.6k modem and a staggering 256k RAM, it means one thing: you answer only to the highest bidder.” And this isn’t “hold X to hack” video game conventions. You actually have to type things and learn, but it’s surprisingly more accessible than I’d feared (basically: I am “an idiot” but I still “had a lot of fun” when I played it 32 years ago). I’m excited!
