, right? The first ever Wii Tennis tournament was a hit, and now one of the founders moves on to the next natural Wii sport in the progression: bowling.
Wiimbledon organizer Steve Bryant joins man-about-the-internet Tim Shey to create a new nerd sport league called Wii Bowl NY. This is a bowling league that uses Wii consoles installed in various bars around New York, and lets drunken gamers continue to get drunk and wear ugly bowling shirts without having to put on the silly shoes. The idea is loosely modelled after corporate softball teams, pitting groups three-person teams against each other in weekly games.
The official site has not launched yet, but bowling fans can keep checking back for more information. The group has also registered another site called Wii Love NY, pointing at the possibility of other Wii-themed events in the Big Apple.
