Not a joke: ‘Madden curse’ movie in the works

Recommended Videos

The aptly named Madden curse — which dictates that if a player appears on the cover of a Madden title, injury is right around the corner — is being made into a movie by Electronic Arts.

The Wrap has the exclusive first details on the sports comedy. EA Entertainment VP Pat O’Brien is leading the project, and the story is said to “follow a former Madden video game champion who is forced out of retirement just as he finds himself on the corner of the game’s cover.”

Why is it that whenever I cover game-themed movies, they always sound effing ridiculous and little ever comes from them? At least this one sounds sort of original, conceptually. More so than Asteroids, anyway.
