Dinosaurs! Radical! Nineties! Yeah! Turok was great. And now it might be coming back, according to an interview by TechRaptor with Samuel ‘Kaiser’ Villarreal.

Kaiser is currently working on porting the retro FPS Powerslave to modern PC hardware, but let loose that there are also plans to give the Nintendo 64’s Turok the remake treatment.

Kaiser will seemingly be resuming work with Night Dive Studios – who have recently ported System Shock 2, I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream, Bad Mojo, and basically every other old game ever – to start porting Turok by the end of the year. In the interview, Kaiser said:

“I was originally working on remaking N64 Turok (called Turok EX) but it got put off to the side. Since now Night Dive Studios has picked up the rights to re-release it, Turok EX will resume development later this year.“

While this isn’t confirmed until Night Dive Studios officially announce it, the studio has retweeted tweets questioning it about Turok, and so it is looking more and more likely.
