Plus the original is getting a remaster
The first Halo Wars might not be everyone’s favorite entry in the Halo franchise, but it was a nice enough introduction to strategy games for folks that don’t normally play them. If 343 Industries feels strongly enough about its sequel to put this much effort into the cinematic trailers, I might have to pull the trigger on it as well.
This newest trailer features the leader of the Banished (the new enemy faction), Atriox, with his super gruff beard and overall cool look. I’m hoping he’ll be as cool within Halo Wars 2‘s isometric perspective, but I’m sure it’s going to be hard to miss such a big guy.
Also announced at The Game Awards is Halo Wars: Definitive Edition, an enhanced version of the 2009 release for Xbox One and Windows 10 complete with improved graphics, new achievements and all released DLC. If you pre-order the digital version of Halo Wars 2: Ultimate Edition, you’ll get early access to the remastered original starting December 20th.
Halo Wars 2 is currently slated to release February 21st for Xbox One and Windows 10.
