Despite the fact that the company is on the rocks, Midway still has enough change hidden in the sofa to piece together a brand new Mortal Kombat. Apparently, selling an MK title with a T-Rating was actually enough to make some real money, and Ed Boon has confirmed that a new game is underway.

Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe was the result of countless hours of hard work by many people, and seeing the game surpass the million-seller plateau makes it worth all the effort,” said Boon, confirming that MK vs. DC has shipped around 1.8 million units. “We’re already hard at work on our next version of Mortal Kombat, and look forward to being able to reveal more details in the future.”
