New Final Fantasy XIII character Sazh carries a baby chocobo in his afro?

The headline says it all. And that is the best thing I’ve heard all week.

The latest issue of V-Jump has images and details on Sazh Katzroy, a two-gun wielding softie that carries a baby chocobo in his afro. No, really. Apparently he’s a major character in the game, and a key player from the first stage. And not a pimp.

Images from this scan show Sazh fighting alongside main character Lightning, and the caption says that his long-range combat is a nice complement to Lightning’s short- ranged attacks. Other attached images in our gallery show that he is indeed a soft-hearted person outside of battle. As our own Genki-JAM says, he looks a lot like the father from Smart Guy.

Seriously: if someone told me that an afro-sporting dude rocked a chocobo chick in his hair in Final Fantasy XIII, I would’ve called them a liar.
