One of the key enemies in the upcoming Wii and DS title Mushroom Men are rabbits. The rabbits aren’t the kind of cutesy bunnies that we’ve grown to love. As you can see from the above photo, these rabbits are rocking some nasty antlers and a vicious glare. Thankfully, there’s a great way to handle them in Mushroom Men.
The keystone to Mushroom Men’s combat is mastering the game’s combo-oriented melee system. The most basic combo system is based around three-hits. Each successive hit that is landed causes more damage and opens up the opportunity for more advanced attacks to be deployed. Stuff like jump-attacks, rolls, and the special “spore power” moves can be initiated after the initial combo.
Of course, players don’t have to go toe-to-toe with every enemy in the game. As Hamza detailed in his preview, the environment can be used as a weapon as well. Mushroom Men appears to be a surprisingly combat-rich game, despite its initial appearance.
Feel free to check out the gallery below for some Wii and DS screens of the game and its various enemies, and don’t forget that our Mushroom Men contest ends in just a few hours! Hurry up and get in on it.
