“We will sell more consoles this generation than Sony,” Microsoft’s Don Mattrick tells Business Week, hot on the heels of the recent Xbox 360 price reduction.

Microsoft are confident, but not confident enough — or stupid enough — to think they’ll be able to outsell Nintendo’s unstoppable console monster, the Wii.

“I’m not at the point where I can say we’re going to be beat Nintendo,” Mattrick continues.

I’m inclined to agree, what with the large head-start the Xbox 360 has over the PlayStation 3, coupled with the 73 price-cuts since Microsoft launched their console. What say you? Does anyone want to make the argument that either Sony or Microsoft will be able to compete with Nintendo this generation?
