However, not all of them are built equal, and this guide will help you figure out the better ones.

Complete Monster Hunter Outlanders weapons tier list

To separate all available weapon options in the game, I have used three different tiers.

  • S-tier weapons are the best options to have due to their sheer in-game power.
  • A-tier weapons are suitable alternatives, but you’ll need to support them with the correct build.
  • B-tier weapons can do well in niche situations.

S-tier

WeaponReason
Long SwordIt’s one of the easiest weapons to master despite having wonderful mobility and damage potential. With Foresight Slash, you also have a relaxing parry window that works well for beginners.
Charge BladeWhile you can only use this weapon with the Fated Adventurer right now, it’s well worth it. You get great damage, immense clearance potential, and it’s one of the strongest options against boss monsters.
Great SwordThe Great Sword might have a learning curve, but the absurd damage makes up for it. I also love its Unwavering ability that allows you to absorb incoming hits and continue to do damage.

A-tier

WeaponReason
Heavy BowgunThe Heavy Bowgun continues to wreak havoc when it comes to dealing damage from distance. You can opt between the Normal and Slicing Ammo for completing different purposes. However, the nerfs it received from its beta has certainly weakened it.
BowExtremely reliable and does a decent amount of damage as long as you position yourself coming and dodge the incoming attacks.
Dual BladesIt’s one of the best choices for players who want to play aggressive and dish out constant attacks.
HammerSince it’s the only weapon that can apply stun, it becomes essential against certain types of enemies.

B-tier

The only weapon that falls in this tier is the Lance, which is good if you want something defensive. However, its attacking potential is extremely limited, making it a challenge to use in most situations.
