Microsoft opens beta sign-ups for new Xbox 360 dashboard

If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years, it’s that Xbox 360 dashboard updates solve everything. Well, maybe not, if you liked the original blades and/or aren’t fond of advertisements — but the new 2012 update adds Internet Explorer to the console, and that’s certainly something.

Sign-ups for the 2012 Xbox Live update beta are located over here. Beyond the browser support, you’ll be getting “personalized dashboard recommendations” and “enhanced category search and discovery features,” reports Major Nelson.

Interestingly, there is a non-disclosure agreement associated with this beta, so you won’t be able to run your mouth freely should you get accepted. If you do violate the NDA, I can only assume Microsoft reps will tie you down, smear tuna all over your body, and unleash a horde of kittens. So many little scratchy tongues, so little time.
