Mouse and keyboard support for consoles has been a divisive issue for over a decade. Microsoft even tried experimenting with it Shadowrun on the Xbox 360 and the results were mixed (I was there! It was a wild time for online gaming). It’s time to try again.

Today during their X018 presentation the company announced that support for mouse and keyboard input “will arrive next week” for “select titles.” It’s going to be done gently through the Insiders program for Fortnite, alongside Warframe, Bomber Crew, Deep Rock Galactic, Strange Brigade, Vermintide 2, War Thunder, X-Morph Defense, Children of Mora, DayZ, Minion Master, Moonlighter, Vigor, Warface, and Wargroove. Some are coming this month, others “in the future.”

Microsoft notes that developers now have “all the tools they need” to allow mouse and keyboard (M/KB) support.
