Microsoft Flight Simulator is back and it’s looking gorgeous in the era of 4K.

Announced at Microsoft’s E3 2019 press conference, the “next generation of one of the most beloved simulation franchises” is releasing in 2020 first for Windows 10 (and included in Game Pass), then on Xbox One at a later date. It leverages satellite data and Azure AI to pull off some stunning views.

“From light planes to wide-body jets, fly highly detailed and stunning aircraft in an incredibly realistic world,” summarized Microsoft. “Create your flight plan and fly anywhere on the planet. Enjoy flying day or night and face realistic, challenging weather conditions.”

Of all the possible games to show up at E3, I sure wasn’t expecting to see a new Flight Simulator.
