Microsoft confirms digital pre-orders for Xbox One

Ask and ye shall receive, apparently

Pre-orders and pre-downloads are coming to select Xbox One titles, starting with Forza Horizon 2 ahead of the racer’s September 30 launch. The feature has also been confirmed for FIFA 15, Microsoft announced today at its gamescom press conference in Cologne, Germany.

It’s a nice option to have, allowing people to play a game immediately upon release. However, it should be noted that, unlike traditional pre-orders at retail, these types of schemes typically lock players into a purchase. So, make sure you really want a game before taking the plunge.
