Microsoft clarifies Xbox 360 disc-read error situation

Microsoft, by way of Major “Sexual Genetics” Nelson, has clarified the disc-read errors that are hitting older Xbox 360 models, confirming that it was a previous software update, not the latest Firmware upgrade, that caused the problem.

“Clarification time! The console replacement plan that is the subject of some of today’s headlines is related to a previous update, NOT the system update that has been in public beta and will be deployed shortly,” said the muscular maestro. “The new disc format that is part of the beta has been rigorously tested across all Xbox 360 models and there are no known compatibility issues.”

Those praying that their 360s would break with the new Firmware are to be disappointed. There will be no free Xbox 360 replacement for you!
